Mr. Jaffe is a 1978 graduate of New Trier East High School. A 1982 Phi Beta Kappa graduate with distinction from Northwestern University and a 1986 graduate of the Northwestern University Law School. Mr. Jaffe was an associate at McDermott, Will & Emery from 1986 to 1988 where he was a member of the firm’s real estate department.

In 1989, Mr. Jaffe began his practice. In 1990, he became partners with Lori Stelle, formerly of Jenner & Block. Mr. Jaffe and Ms. Stelle were partners until 1986, when Ms. Stelle became Counsel to the Chicago Board of Education. In 1996, Mr. Jaffe became partners with Jay S. Berlin, and they continue their partnership of Jaffe & Berlin, L.L.C. to this day.

Mr. Jaffe practices in the area of real estate transactions. Mr. Jaffe counsels developers in residential and commercial development, and buyers and sellers in commercial, industrial and residential real estate transactions. Moreover, Mr. Jaffe counsels clients in the area of I.R.S. section 1031 tax deferred exchanges and commercial leasing and financing transactions.
